Fitzwalter Arms, Canterbury

Fitzwalter Arms

A Grade II listed building, ‘The Fitz’, as it is affectionately known by the locals, is a quintessential English pub with all the charm and character you'd expect form a pub that has long been the centre of village life.

The Fitzwalter Arms is our family run pub in the heart of undiscovered Kent.  Amy, Luke and Danny (pub puppy) welcome everyone to spend the day lazing in front of our log fires after a walk around the stunning Goodnestone Park Gardens or the miles of walks around the garden of England.  We serve traditional country pub food which is all freshly prepared and sourced as locally as possible.

Our chalk cellars ensure our ales and lagers are perfectly conditioned. Our bar billiards table and old pub games can keep you amused in the cold winter months and a large beer garden can be enjoyed in the summer.

With the full tenancy finally in the hands of Luke and Amy, they have been hard at work in the Garden (when it has been dry enough) preparing the glorious suntrap of a beer garden for the stunning summer we are surely going to have this year.  Odd jobs continue inside the building as the rain or snow falls, decorating the back rooms before giving the place a fresh coat of paint for the Spring.  But they are not alone, Shepherd Neame will soon start the work they've committed to, general repairs around the building to keep this stunning old pub as it should be.

We look forward to welcoming you at 'the Fitz' over the next few months
