The Rose and Crown is an attractive, traditional English city pub dating back to the 16th century, located in the historic area once known as the Paris Garden and mentioned by Shakespeare in Henry VIII. The pub survived the Blitz miraculously undamaged while most of the surrounding area was flattened.

Unusually for the area, The Rose and Crown has a large beer garden, a beautiful sunny spot lined with hop and wisteria trellises, adjoining the grounds of the church next door.

The Rose and Crown offers a comprehensive lunch menu featuring a wide range of specials along with traditional British pub grub, sandwiches and baguettes.

On the first floor there is a function room where a number of film shoots have taken place, and is available for hire for birthday, leaving and retirement parties, business meetings and quiz nights. Free WiFi, private bar and a projection screen are provided.
