From its oak beams to inglenook fireplace and indoor well, this 15th century weatherboard inn oozes history, character and charm. Dating from 1490, the pub appears in the 2009 Sussex Good Pub Guide and 2009 Good Pub Guide for its excellent food, beers, wines and friendly welcome.

Located in the heart of the Sussex countryside the Royal Oak not only is a great stopover for walkers, cyclists and sightseers but also hosts a wide range of events - live traditional jazz, quizzes, Sunday wine and sausage tastings and traditional Irish gigs. Food ranges from tasty sandwiches to gastro pub specials and the traditional Sunday roasts with homemade Yorkshire puddings are extremely popular.

The inn also has a large beer garden with stunning views and the ‘Old Barn’ is ideal for wedding receptions, parties, family gatherings and meetings.
