William Caxton

William Caxton

Situated at the end of Tenterden’s charming High Street, the historic William Caxton offers a warm welcome and a fine range of Shepherd Neame ales.

The charming, traditional pub is a perfect base from which to explore the delights of the Cinque Port town, including the nearby Kent & East Sussex Railway.

The Grade II listed building – named after the 15th century merchant who introduced the printing press to England and was reputedly born in Tenterden – benefits from a log burning fire and beams, all adding to the image of a cosy English pub.

A range of ales and a good selection of wine complement the welcoming atmosphere, with regulars enjoying the quiz night every Wednesday.

A walled garden at the rear is ideal for the summer months and the pub has some parking to the front, with plenty of town centre car parks close by.

What our customers say:
"Our ensuite accommodation was absolutely gorgeous, very tasteful decoration, and the ensuite was superb. We found Debbie and her staff very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed celebrating my husband's birthday in the bar with some of the friendly locals. The full breakfast was also very nice. Will definitely stay there again." Sharon
