The Adelaide is a magnet for sports fans, being close to some of the nation's biggest sporting venues. Located not far from the River Thames, the traditional pub is just a few train stops from Twickenham rugby ground and a 15 minute drive from both Kempton Park and Sandown Park racecourses. A variety of sports are shown on a projector screen and the pub sponsors a junior rugby team. Bushy Park - one of the eight official Royal Parks - is just 500 yards away and it is a 35 minute train ride into central London.
In 2009 The Adelaide won a Richmond in Bloom award and in 2010 picked up Shepherd Neame's Perfect Pint accolade. The 16th century pub is integral to the local community; it has a cashpoint and several sports and voluntary groups hold meetings in its function room, which is available for hire.
