Situated in the village of Little Baddow and in the middle of extensive walking country, The General's Arms is a beautifully presented pub, both inside and out.
The decor is a delightful mix of the antique and the contemporary - the pale panelled walls giving a light and airy feel, with traditionally tiled floor and exposed brickwork.
A great menu is on offer with a mix of home-cooked traditional and modern dishes, and the separate dining room is available for private parties, weddings and business meetings. A great pint is always to be had - meriting a silver award in the CAMRA guide - and a good selection of wines is also served.
Outside the large, award-winning garden has an excellent children's play area, separate patio seating and garden tables, including 2 outdoor heaters for chilly evenings.
The pub is a real community centre, supporting local schools and hosting local societies and a warm welcome is always given to walkers and their dogs visiting nearby Heather Hills, Lingwood Common and Blakes Wood National Trust woodlands.
