The Kings Head is situated in the centre of Hythe, with its historic old buildings, independent shops, seafront, canal where boats can be hired, and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.
The pretty building dates right back to the 1600s, and still retains its marvellous old inglenook fireplace, now home to a delightfully glowing wood-burning stove. The pub has a traditional, honest, relaxed feel, with a stripped back interior. Outside is a sheltered decked area with heating and lighting, and a further courtyard garden for summer use.
The licensee prides himself on providing excellent cask ales, and always has Shepherd Neame’s seasonal specials when available; in addition a superior choice of wine by the glass is also offered.
Honest-to-goodness traditional pub food is served all day every day, either in the bar or in the separate dining area, part of which can be closed off and used for large groups or private functions.
What our customers say:
"I wanted to say how wonderful our food was. It was so delicious and outstanding value for money. Everything was home-made and fresh. I would recommend eating at this pub. A lovely clean traditional English pub in a lovely part of Kent." Joanne
