The Telegraph is a traditional pub, dating back at least 200 years, in the coastal town of Deal. This is a real pub with a regular clientele of locals who come for great beer, friendly community spirit and to play games – the pub supports no fewer than nine darts teams as well as pool, and there are always cards and board games available.
The bar is a convivial place with an open fire and a piano which is just waiting for anybody able to play! The licensee claims, with some justification, to have the best jukebox in Deal with a huge range of music ranging from the 60s right through to current hits. In addition, live music is hosted once a month on a Sunday afternoon.
Once every two months the locally famous ‘Quiz and Curry’ night is held on a Thursday – featuring the ever-popular authentic home-made Malaysian curries made by a pub regular.
There is also a small suntrap of a garden outside, prettily decorated with flowers and hanging baskets in the summer, and with patio and barbecue area.
