Ye Olde Beverlie

Ye Olde Beverlie

Ye Olde Beverlie boasts some distinctive original features that add to the historic atmosphere of this delightfully warm and welcoming gastro pub.

The original stone floor, piecrust moulded ceilings, beams and open fireplace, are complemented by a recent refurbishment which has fully revealed its evocative, historic character.

The listed redbrick building, dating back to 1570, was built by Sir Roger Manwood as part of a set of almshouses. The pub claims to be the site of the invention of bat and trap, still played there today.

Only 10 minutes walk from the University of Kent, it is popular with the local community as well as visitors who seek it out for its Mexican food and English grills.

The pub also has an excellent wine list including champagne and sparkling wines.

There is a pleasant large garden and courtyard and popular regular events include quiz and gourmet nights.

Ye Olde Beverlie has a separate restaurant and function room.
