Bonny Cravat

Bonny Cravat

A busy village pub in the centre of Woodchurch with a popular restaurant and a very large garden, a particular favourite with families.

No-one is sure where the name came from, the Bonny Cravat may have been a ship, or even a former villager with a dubious reputation.

Whatever the reason for it, it's the only pub in the country with that name, and one that the people of Woodchurch are rightly proud of.

The newly refurbished pub has two large bars and a games room. There is a good selection of ales on at any one time.

The garden has a decked area, a patio, children's play equipment and a barbecue. Games include bat and trap, darts, pool and dominoes.

Although it's modern and family friendly, the building is steeped in history.

In the cellar there is a priesthole, while a tunnel leads directly to the church opposite, believed to date from the time of the Reformation.

The pub has full disabled access and a large car park.
