Derby Arms

Derby Arms

Standing alongside Ramsgate’s well known railway viaduct – and thereby just a few minutes from the town’s station – the Derby Arms is a friendly community pub.

It’s home to Derby, the pub’s own parrot, who has become great friends with the regulars there.

Charity nights, quiz nights and live music are all part of the fabric of the pub which also supports teams in football, darts and pool.  Visitors can also enjoy playing dominoes, cards and board games.

A variety of cask ales are usually available along with a good selection of house wines. A beer garden is at the rear of the pub while a smoking facility is at the front. Dogs are made welcome.

Renowned broadcaster and radio comedy writer Frank Muir was born at the Derby Arms, then run by his grandmother, on 5 February 1920. His early life is remembered in his book A Kentish Lad, published three months before he died suddenly in January 1998.
