Fishermans Arms

Fishermans Arms

Conveniently situated in the town centre, the Fisherman’s Arms is a truly historic building, reputedly the oldest building in Maidstone, dating back to 1430 - and like all good pubs has its own resident ghost, known as Black Jack by the locals, a soldier who died in the building having been injured in a battle which took place nearby.

A friendly pub, offering great ales and featuring in the CAMRA guide, it has a small and tranquil courtyard garden with brightly coloured planters and baskets of flowers, and plenty of entertainment.

Sky Sports is very popular with the regulars - football, cricket and rugby and other sports are regularly screened; for those of a less sporting nature traditional pub games such as cribbage, dominoes and shut the box are available too. Live rock/pop music is featured every couple of months or so. Food is served at lunchtime - fresh sandwiches, paninis and similar straightforward pub fare.
