The Duke of Edinburgh received its licence in 1868 when it was transferred from a house called the Bricklayers Arms. The pub is just along the road from Maidstone Hospital.
It has wide screen TV, a patio garden in which you can enjoy a quiet pint and excellent bar food is available. There is a covered, heated smoking area overlooking the Heath. Inside, the pubs rooms have not always been as they are now: the pool room used to be a stable and above this was the local football team's changing room. Nowadays the pub is at the heart of the community and is open all day.
