Duke Of Edinburgh

Duke Of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh received its licence in 1868 when it was transferred from a house called the Bricklayers Arms. The pub is just along the road from Maidstone Hospital.

It has wide screen TV, a patio garden in which you can enjoy a quiet pint and excellent bar food is available. There is a covered, heated smoking area overlooking the Heath. The pub is widely known as a venue for band performances and gigs are held on Saturdays. Customers can also play pool, darts, shove ha'penny and petanque. Bar games are also available - cribbage, connect 4, jenga, chess & cards. The Duke of Edinburgh also has wireless broadband

The University College for the Creative Arts at Maidstone is just down the Tonbridge Road towards Maidstone, next to Oakwood Park. The pub is widely known as a venue for band performances and gigs are held on Saturdays.

Inside, the pubs rooms have not always been as they are now: the pool room used to be a stable and above this was the local football team's changing room. Nowadays the pub is at the heart of the community and is open all day.
