A warm welcome awaits you at this charming and attractive East End pub, adjacent to the Hertford and Union canal and near to London’s second largest park, Victoria Park.
Inside, the pub has a traditional, almost country-pub ambience, with wooden floors and plenty of interesting trinkets, photos and so on adorning the walls, comfortable seating, and cheering fires in winter. Daily newspapers and magazines are available, along with entertainment like darts, pool, shove ha’penny, dominoes and cards.
Unusually for the area, the Eleanor Arms boasts a small suntrap of a courtyard garden, with four tables, pretty planters and hanging baskets, and a few shrubs.
The friendly licensees host interesting events – a slightly out of the ordinary charity quiz open to all once a month, live music some weekends and an open mike night every so often – where anyone can flaunt their musical talents to the audience.
All in all a star of a pub, justifiably listed by CAMRA, and in fact area Pub of the Year finalist.
