The Wheel Inn is a traditional country pub, close to the ancient Pilgrims Way. and now run by landlords Holly and Patrick Tordeur.
Popular with walkers as well as lovers of fine food, The Wheel has a cosy atmosphere, perfectly suited to its countryside setting.
The pub has a large garden and sits in a peaceful rural setting, yet is easy to reach by car from the main A20, or on foot from the Pilgrims Way. The pub offers a good selection of wine and Shepherd Neame ales.
The keen-eyed visitor might spot the one green spoke of the wheel outside the pub. The story goes that some New Zealand servicemen were billeted nearby and told the landlord they must have drunk enough to buy the pub. He suggested they had only managed to drink enough to own one spoke and painted it in their honour.
