  • Faversham Remembers First World War Hero

    Hundreds of people packed Faversham town centre for the unveiling of a memorial stone to First World War hero Lieutenant General Sir Philip Neame VC. Faversham-born Neame, cousin of Percy Beale Neame, the first Neame to join with the Shepherds to form Shepherd Neame, was awarded the Victoria Cross (VC) in 1914 in honour of his heroic actions during a battle in Neuve Chapelle, France.
