  • New Look for Canterbury's Old City Bar

    The Old City Bar in Canterbury held a launch party to celebrate its new look on Monday, August 4. Licensee Charles Smythe has undertaken a major £120,000 revamp of the city centre pub, with support from brewery Shepherd Neame.During the 10 week project, the old conservatory was demolished and an extension built at the back of the building, with folding French doors leading into the garden.

  • Lights out at the Hatch

    The lights will be going out at The Hatch in Redhill on Monday 4th August to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.  At 10pm, the pub will turn off all lights, and light candles which will burn for an hour until 11pm when they will be blown out one by one by the pub’s customers.

  • Get Set for the Great British Beerathon

    The annual Great British Beerathon is taking place at the Hoop and Grapes in Farringdon Street, London, on Saturday, August 2nd.  A total of 150 people, the majority in fancy dress, will set off from the Shepherd Neame pub to complete five one mile laps around the City of London.
