Senior Brewer, Stewart Main has created a special beer in Shepherd Neame's Pilot Brewery to commemorate the anniversary of the death of Buddy Holly specifically for London pubs, the Betsey Trotwood, the Hoop & Grapes and the Rose and Crown* - Holly Hop Ale, a 4.1% American-style IPA.

The Betsey Trotwood, will be holding a celebration of Buddy Holly's life on 2nd February

Tasting Notes
"Bursting with vibrant, fruity hop aroma and a marked crisp bitterness, this very pale beer is brewed in the American IPA style. The finest pale ale malt has been mashed with Carapils malt and malted wheat giving a great malty base to compliment the huge American hop. If you taste a better beer than this on the bar, that will be the day!"
Also now available from the Pilot Brewery is 'Triple Oat Stout' - 4.2%

Tasting Notes
A real beauty of a Stout, velvety and creamy and as smooth as satin. Brewed using three types of oat, Pinhead, Golden Naked and Flaked. Add the that the delights of Pale, Crystal, and Chocolate malts plus Roasted Barley and you have a veritable cornucopia of rich and complex malty flavours. Bittered with the choicest East Kent Goldings and late hopped with the same, you get a beer that is unique and an outstanding example of all that is good from the Pilot Brewery at Shepherd Neame. A beer not to be missed.
