Kent brewer Shepherd Neame has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with local football club Canterbury City FC, who play in the premier division of the Southern Counties East Football League.
The deal will see Shepherd Neame’s logo appear on Canterbury City’s first team kit as they become the club’s ‘First Team Partner’.
City chairman Tim Clark said “It is fantastic for the club to have a well-known and locally-respected company such as Shepherd Neame supporting us.
“We are grateful to Shepherd Neame for their three-year commitment particularly as we now embark on considering alternative locations for a home ground. We are now playing FA Cup football again for the first time in 15 years so this is an exciting time at the club.”
Giles Hilton, Shepherd Neame’s head of free on sales, said: “Shepherd Neame has a proud record of supporting a variety of sports from grassroots to county level. We wish the players and supporters of Canterbury City FC every success in the forthcoming season and look forward to a fruitful relationship over the next three years.”
City's commercial director John Fabre added "This agreement is a real boost for the club and will help to accelerate our plans for the future. Along with Canterbury City Council's backing of our community work and other loyal and longstanding supporters, we can really look forward to the forthcoming seasons.”
