Raise a Glass to 25 Years of Faversham Hop Festival

Posted: 20 August 2014

Toast the 25th anniversary of Faversham Hop Festival with a glass of Queen Court Harvest Ale. Britain’s oldest brewer Shepherd Neame, based in the market town, is once again the official partner for the free two-day event, which commemorates the golden days of hop picking in Kent.

Every year Shepherd Neame’s team of master brewers join in the celebrations by creating the official festival beer - Queen Court Harvest Ale.

It is named after Queen Court Farm at Ospringe, the brewery’s former hop farm which houses the National Hop Collection, dedicated to the preservation of the UK’s hop-growing heritage and containing hundreds of rare varieties.

The cask ale features pale and crystal malts and a mix of hops from across the globe.

Queen Court Harvest Ale (ABV 4.5%) went on sale on Monday, August 18, and will be available until Sunday, September 14.

Faversham Hop Festival is taking place on Saturday, August 30 and Sunday, August 31. For information visit www.favershamhopfestival.org.
