This year’s Wheelie Bin Race at the Three Horseshoes pub in Hernhill, near Faversham, raised £3,128 for charity. Launched at the Shepherd Neame pub more than a decade ago, the annual event sees teams of four racing elaborately decorated bins through the village.

A total of 10 new employees have been taken on at riverside pub The Anchor at Yalding following its recent acquisition by Britain’s oldest brewer Shepherd Neame. The 14th century thatch roofed pub is situated on the River Medway, a few minutes from the village of Yalding near Maidstone, and was taken over by the Faversham-based brewery at the start of July. British soul star Paul Young is to headline a new charity music festival at the Dover Castle Inn in Teynham. The Castle Inn, Bodiam is a charming country pub situated directly opposite the picturesque Bodiam Castle, near Robertsbridge, in East Sussex.Inside there is a comfortable bar area with seating, as well as a separate dining room, however we are sure that if you visit this summer you are likely to want to eat outside.

Not many bars come with their own ice cream kiosk. It is just one of the unique features of The Minnis Bay Bar & Brasserie which attracted new general manager Daniel Cole.
Daniel, 29, from Whitstable, has just started running the coastal site for Shepherd Neame, after the Faversham-based brewery acquired it at the start of July.
