The Woolpack Inn in Chilham, near Canterbury is a traditional inn dating back over 600 years, with many surviving period features tucked away inside this imposing building.  Situated just a short drive or bus ride from Canterbury, The Woolpack offers the perfect stopover for those wishing to enjoy both the quiet of a Kentish country village, and the bustle of the city centre.

As well as 14 well-presented bedrooms, including family rooms and some with small private gardens, the Inn also offers a comfortable bar area, and an award-winning restaurant.  On warmer days you may choose to sit in the sunny courtyard garden and relax with a drink.  Well behaved dogs are welcome, and may stay with guests in garden rooms.

The restaurant offers an impressive and varied a la carte menu, with quality roast meats and fresh seafood making a regular appearance, as well as some imaginative vegetarian choices, and special desserts from the blackboard.  Should you prefer to eat in the bar, there is also a traditional pub menu, and on Sundays a roast with all the trimmings. All ingredients are proudly sourced from local suppliers wherever possible.

Of course there is always a pint of Shepherd Neame cask ale available, as well as a good range of soft drinks, and an extensive wine list to cater for all tastes, plus champagne and sparkling wines for those special occasions.

The Inn is said to be haunted by the Grey Lady, a friendly ghost who wanders the main building – but if ghost spotting isn’t your thing, there are plenty of walks and cycle rides to enjoy in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The Inn even offers cycle hire and walking maps, and can arrange day passes for nearby fishing lakes.  For shopping and sightseeing, Canterbury is just a short journey away.

The Woolpack was recently awarded ‘Marketing Pub of the Year’ at the Shepherd Neame Pub of The Year awards, and also holds a Trip Advisor 2014 Certificate of Excellence, and a Beautiful South Highly Commended award.  A shuttle service from airports and train stations can be pre-booked - relax and let them pick you up!
