The William Caxton in Tenterden is a pretty, traditional Inn, found in the centre of this historic market town.  With cosy traditional bar areas, a restaurant for more formal dining, and a secluded, sunny garden on offer, it is the perfect place to visit whatever the British weather brings.  There are also 3 double en-suite rooms, should you choose to stay a little longer.

Located at the end of the High Street, the pub is well positioned for a post-shopping pub lunch, and has on-site parking.  Tenterden is easily accessed from the M20 or A21.  If you are making a weekend of it, it is possible to take a day trip to Ashford or Hastings, spend a day on the sand dunes of Camber, or take a trip on the town’s Kent and East Sussex Railway to explore the castle at Bodiam.

The pub serves a variety of freshly prepared meals, with traditional pub food served in the bar area, or restaurant-style meals in the dining room.  All meals are home cooked on the premises and produced using quality, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.  The focus is on good old fashioned pub food that tastes great and offers good value. Daily specials feature, and the pub is always happy to cater for special dietary requirements.

The bar offers a range of Shepherd Neame ales and lagers, complemented by a program of regular guest beers form around the country.  The wine list offers a large choice of wines from around the world, with a good selection of wines by the glass for everyday drinking as well as a selection of premium bottles for those special occasions.

All three of the double rooms are en-suite, with little touches like power showers, heated towel rails and luxury towels to make your stay feel like a real treat, with a whirlpool bath in the premier room for that extra bit of relaxation.  All rooms benefit from flat screen TVs and wifi.  Mike and Carol will make sure you are served a hearty breakfast, included in your accommodation rate.

As the hub of the Tenterden community, the William Caxton regularly hosts live music on a Friday evening, with local talent Beth Wilson due to pay a visit on 25th July, and the very popular Sam Calver, back by popular demand, joining them on 29th August.  The pub also hosts other events throughout the year, including a Psychic Night coming up on the 2nd August.  For details of these and other events, check the Event listings on their website.
