Pub of the week: The White Lion

Posted: 24 October 2012

The White Lion is a recently refurbished coaching inn dating from 1703, in the village of Selling, just outside Faversham and close to the beautiful walks of Perry Woods.

Tenants Anthony and Lisa found the pub by chance when they stopped off for a drink on their way to France. They fell in love with it and the rest is history.

If you’re after a warm welcome, delicious food and a traditional pub with the warmth of two open fires then you need to pay a visit to The White Lion.

Anthony sources all his food locally and the only trouble you’ll have is choosing what to order from the menu.

The pub has a 3 course set lunch menu for £11.95 and from Tuesday to Friday the pub offers a 3 course early evening menu for £19.95 between 6 and 7pm. There is also a light bites menu including sharing platters and sandwiches such as toasted bacon and duck egg.

And as Christmas is fast approaching why not book a meal to celebrate with family or friends? The pub has a tempting Christmas Fayre menu available throughout December as well as a special menu for Christmas Day and a menu for Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
