This week’s Pub of the Week is the fantastic Cricketers in Horsell, Surrey. Its gorgeous setting overlooks Horsell Common, making it perfect for a most walk meal or as a pit stop for a quick drink before you set off again!  Its large, welcoming log fires inside and extensive beer garden outside make it the ideal place to enjoy any season in the beautiful surrounding countryside.

The Cricketers is a triple award-winning pub. In 2013 it was crowned both the “Best Food-led Pub” and Overall Winner at Woking’s Best Bar None Awards. The pub is also the previous winner of Shepherd Neame’s “Heart of the Community Award 2012.

The Cricketers prides itself on delivering fantastic food with great friendly service in its fully air conditioned restaurant. Their delicious menu offers everything from light bites through to full 3 course slap-up meals. The pub also guarantees perfect pints of Shepherd Neame beer and a wide choice of great wines from around the world. Each Sunday the pub boasts a fabulous Sunday Carvery served from 12 noon – 6pm.

The pub is always family friendly, dogs are welcome in the beer garden and there are baby changing facilities and even a kids menu including a colouring competition with monthly prizes and a great children’s play area.

There’s always something going on at The Cricketers including live music, quizzes and private functions. There are weekly Jazz nights every Monday evening, and live music from local bands on the first Friday of every month.

The pub also has a separate area for private parties and can cater for any event - weddings, birthdays, wakes, christenings, tailored to your individual requirements, of course. The Cricketers are keen fundraisers too, running a regular Quiz Night on alternate Tuesdays from 8pm with all proceeds to Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.
