A new film highlighting the importance of a beer tax freeze in the March Budget was released by the British Beer & Pub Association today. The film ‘The Beer Story - Calling Time on Duty’ highlights the vital role the brewing and pub industry plays in the economic and social life of Britain, and includes interviews with a host of people who make this £19 billion industry such a key part of the economy – in every part of Britain.

The Shepherd Neame Visitor Centre in Faversham has struck gold by going green, having received a gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme for its continuing work implementing and promoting sustainable practices.

Reporter Dan Bloom was named Shepherd Neame Kent Journalist of the Year at an awards lunch held at the Faversham brewery, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Kent Media Awards.
Over the years, judges have included newspaper editor Lord Deedes and TV quizmaster Bob Holness.

Shepherd Neame chief executive, Jonathan Neame, has called for the Chancellor, George Osbourne, to support investment and growth in the pub market. In a letter to the editor, published in today’s Daily Telegraph, he calls for “escalator” taxes to be reviewed annually.
