New Year New Start

Twelfth night has come and gone and so the festive season is well and truly over. Christmas decorations have been boxed back up, the tree is looking sorry for itself by the dustbins; the left over turkey is now thankfully a distant memory. The hustle and bustle of sales shopping is behind us and New Year resolutions have long been broken.

Similarly in the brewery we have returned to normal, the festive specials (Christmas ale for bottle and cask, Tins Ale, Rudolph’s Reward and Christmas Porter) have all been distributed (we have no leftovers) and the recipes are back in the file until next time. The hustle and bustle of last minute supply to trade is becoming a distant memory and the supply chain is settling down with a sudden ample supply of empty casks and kegs. We have kept our resolution to review what went well and what we could improve on ready for next December and so we start to look ahead.

Amber ale is now available in cask, to be followed by Earlybird and we are starting to look to the big events of 2012, a jubilee celebration and the Olympics.

Closer to home we are pleased to welcome our new head brewer Richard Frost who starts with us today, I am sure he will be bringing plenty of new ideas and challenging us to over the coming year and we all look forward to working with him.
