We are almost done ! The beer has all been delivered in good time for the Christmas holiday and we are preparing to shut up shop. There will be brewers on duty every day including Christmas Day checking the beer in fermenter and making sure that our yeast is kept safe and healthy so a big thank you to them. Last night the Production Directors senior managers had our Christmas outing. We decide to visit rural pubs in Kent, not just ours, and get into the Christmas spirit. We sampled an amazing range of beers including Adnams, Harvey's, Goachers, Hopdeamon and Sharps. The evening started and ended in "The New Flying Horse" in Wye where we stumbled upon an elf ! One of Santa's little helpers we think. "The New Fly" is a lovely pub which also has bedrooms, a great place to stay if you find yourself in Kent, its only 10 minutes from Ashford. I recommend it to you.
Our Christmas Ale is getting great reviews from various beer writers. One gave it 5 out of 5 on his score card, another rated it 9 out of ten. It is a 7% abv amber beer with a wonderful full bodied fruity taste. It is bursting with Christmas flavour with plum, raisin and recurrent notes. I recommend it to you and take this opportunity to wish everyone a
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
from the whole brewing team at Shepherd-Neame.
