As I write this the Olympics are well under way. We have had the torch through Faversham, a memorable event but it seemed to be over very quickly until we all retired to local hostelries, the torch's progress through Kent was celebrated with our own special beer that was only available in pubs on its route.

Cask Sam Adams Launches for Independence Day

A limited edition Sam Adams cask ale has been brewed in celebration of American Independence Day on 4th July. Blonde Ambition is a 4.5% abv cask ale which was brewed at Shepherd Neame’s Faversham brewery, to a recipe devised in conjunction with the Boston Beer Company.

Aren’t 4 day weekends a great invention. Of course not everyone is lucky enough to get the whole 4 days off, there are the emergency services (hopefully you didn’t need them), the shops for those last minute sausage rolls, the staff at the local takeaway and the publican and bar staff at your local hostelry.

Time to celebrate

It is June at last (or too soon depending on your viewpoint?) and this weekend is the Jubilee celebration. We have produced a Diamond Jubilee cask ale that you will hopefully find in your local public house, it is a 3.8% light coloured ale brewed using only pale ale malt which has a pleasant summery bouquet from the hops.

Cheers as Kent crisps launch Spitfire flavour ale

It’s chocks away for Kent Crisps as they reveal the latest flavour in their award-winning portfolio – Roast Beef and Spitfire Ale. The premium ale from Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewer, was originally brewed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Its characteristically Kentish, hoppy flavour has made it a firm favourite with beer lovers.
